I have been diagnosed and treated for Lyme and a few specific co-infections three times since ’95. I am emotionally, physically and financially exhausted. I remain symptomatic, however, no longer have the resources to treat with a LLMD as none of them accept insurance. My question is why. Although I have been given an answer to this question by a few MD’s, I can not and will never understand a healthcare system that will only treat this very severe and debilitating illness only if one can afford it. I know so many people, including children, that are not receiving appropriate testing and treatment and are suffering and getting worse by the day as a result. Is it greed, lack of empathy, fear on the Drs side, or just a plain old lack of morals and a disregard for the medical code of ethics. Please advise!
