LYME DISEASE Q & A VIDEO SERIES

I believe I have Lyme disease but my PCP does not. What should I do?

ANSWER:

If you find yourself with a doctor who is relying just on seeing a tick, or seeing the right kind of rash, or a positive test, and you’re not fitting exactly that presentation, you might find it difficult to get treated. If you’re still sick, you might want to find another doctor, because doctors are divided on this topic. I’m comfortable, if clinically indicated, in treating patients for Lyme disease, even when they don’t see a tick bite, don’t have a rash, and don’t have a positive test.
