  1. I appreciate the clear manner with which you are sharing this important information. I would like to raise the warning that even in areas where infected tick populations are very high, the testing is not happening as part of regular protocols. Questions about new or old tick bites or likelihood of them are not being asked. I have only been tested and diagnosed after a full year of acute disease and interactions with about a dozen different medical providers. The first time I sought care was an ER in the middle of summer in NH where one of the first questions should be ‘Have you been bitten, or could you been bitten recently?’ Not asking, not testing is putting many people at risk of long term health problems.
