Dr. Daniel Cameron Bio
Daniel J. Cameron, MD, MPH, a board-certified internist and epidemiologist, is not your typical Lyme disease doctor. When not in practice treating Lyme disease patients, Dr. Cameron is busy training physicians concerned about tick-borne illnesses; actively pioneering new ways for clinicians to better care for Lyme disease patients; and publishing scientific papers and analytic reviews.
He is the current and past-president of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS), a nonprofit medical society dedicated to advancing the standard of care for individuals suffering from Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.
Dr. Cameron is a leading voice on Lyme and related tick-borne illnesses for the legislature, media, and professional heath organizations. His insights are based on nearly three decades of practice in the field. He is the lead author of evidence-based treatment guidelines for the management of Lyme disease and has been a featured speaker at conferences in the United States, Europe, and Canada.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1981, Dr. Cameron earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota, which focused on chronic illness. He has completed residencies at Beth Israel Medical Center and Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Cameron operates a private practice, Dr. Daniel Cameron & Associates, located in Mount Kisco, NY.
