Lyme Disease Science Conversations:
Newborns contract Babesia, a parasitic tick-borne pathogen
Live conversations with a leading expert, Dr. Daniel Cameron, about the latest discoveries and advancements in Lyme disease and associated illnesses.
We will discuss five newborn children who contracted Babesia, a parasitic tick-borne pathogen on February 13, 2018 at 8PM EST. Three of the newborn children contracted Babesia through a transfusion. Two of the newborn children contracted Lyme disease from their mother while in utero. The cases were featured in the 2017 issues of Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, the Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society and in my book “Lyme Disease takes on Medicine.”
