Lyme disease and COVID-19 — Understanding the risks

I have Lyme disease patients in my practice who have been ill with COVID-19. Some have taken the COVID-19 vaccine. Others have refused to take it. This survey is expected to help individuals with Lyme disease understand the impact of having COVID-19 and/or the risk associated with the vaccine.

Listed below are several questions from the Lyme disease and COVID-19 survey. Your answers can assist us with understanding the potential side effects from COVID-19 and/or the vaccine in people with Lyme disease.

Please note, anyone with Lyme disease can take this survey ─ even those who have not had COVID or received the vaccine.

I’m curious where the results of the covid survey are? Or have they not been released yet? I am deeply conflicted if I should get the covid vaccine. I’m 31 and have had Lyme since I was 9 years old. Went undiagnosed for 10 years and have been on and off treatment for 12 years now. I’m hoping to gain insight from the survey in order to help me decide if a vaccine is something I should do. Thanks!

The survey opened in July 2021. The preliminary results are being prepared for the upcoming ILADS meeting in October 2021. I am sorry I do not have the results to share with you at this time to help with your decision.
